Webb Henderson is delighted to announce the establishment of our new regulatory consultancy and the appointment of Dr Rob Nicholls as principal advisor and head of the consultancy.

The consultancy focuses on regulatory strategy and implementation in the telecommunications and media sectors, providing in-depth technical, economic, policy and commercial advisory services for clients involved with these sectors around the world. The consultancy deals with the most pressing issues facing businesses, regulators and governments, including regulation in a convergence environment, regulatory and technology issues regarding high speed broadband networks, spectrum management and bidding strategies, as well as policy development and regulatory design.

It complements Webb Henderson's legal work for telecommunications and media clients on regulatory matters and enables the firm to provide a uniquely integrated advisory service.

Rob was, until recently, a general manager at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission where he had overall responsibility for the regulation of transmission and facilities access, spectrum and mobile and broadcasting and content in the Australian market. Rob is an engineer with a PhD in the regulation of broadcasting and has considerable international experience advising clients on regulatory strategy and implementation in developed and emerging markets.
