Jessica Gurevich, Lawyer

Jessica's practice focuses on commercial, intellectual property and regulatory matters particularly in the telecommunications, media and technology sectors. Her experience extends to providing advice to listed companies, private entities and government departments, both domestically and internationally, in the banking, energy, media and government sectors as well as to core TMT clients.

Notable and recent experience includes:

• assisting the largest mobile operator in Indonesia, in its ongoing procurement and management of numerous IT systems and network rollouts, from the commencement of a tendering process, through to dispute resolution;
• advising and performing due diligence for a Hong Kong based telecommunications operator in relation to its separation from joint venture arrangements, including advising on the various licensing implications in each jurisdiction in which the parties jointly operated;
• advising Qatar Telecom on a range of wholesale regulatory matters regarding its access and collaboration arrangements with Vodafone Qatar;
• performing extensive due diligence, particularly regarding licensing arrangements for potential transfer of intellectual property materials, conducted in anticipation of mergers and demergers including telecommunications, mining and IT entities.
• advising NBN Co on a range of procurement arrangements as well as and wholesale regulatory issues regarding the deployment of the NBN; and
• advising telecommunications and technology clients on copyright, privacy law implications of their activities, including publications in print, broadcast and online.

Jessica also has in house experience gained from a secondment to Travelex, where she was involved in technology, property, procurement and marketing matters.

She holds bachelor degrees in Laws (honours) and Commerce (Finance major), both from the University of Melbourne. Prior to joining Webb Henderson in July 2010, Jessica practiced as a lawyer in the Intellectual Property and Technology group at Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
