Announcing new London office and Gordon Moir as partner

PRESS RELEASE

Wednesday, 11 May 2011

Gordon Moir joins law firm Webb Henderson as a partner and will lead our new London office, which will serve as the base for our operations in the United Kingdom and Europe. It will be our fourth office, along with our presence in Sydney, Auckland and Singapore.

Gordon has extensive international experience in the telecommunications, media and technology sectors and in wider anti-trust and regulatory matters, achieved during his time as General Counsel of BT Retail and as BT Group Head of Antitrust and Regulatory Law. Gordon's experience includes advising on market access and liberalisation, functional and structural separation, access to content and mobile regulation. He was named as one of the Hot 100 Lawyers in 2010 by The Lawyer magazine.

Our London office will initially focus on strategic regulatory, commercial and corporate matters for clients in the telecommunications, media and technology sectors. These are core areas of practice for the firm and we aim to be one of the leading law firms in the world in these areas.

Recently, most of the firm's related work has involved advising on next generation access networks, functional and structural separation, wholesale access across fibre and mobile networks, fixed and mobile infrastructure agreements, access to content and investment in international connectivity and undersea cable capacity. Our clients include major international, regional and domestic operators (Vodafone, SingTel, Qtel, du, Telkomsel and PCCW), government-owned entities rolling out FTTH networks (NBN Co), regulators (NTC Thailand) and international agencies (the ITU and World Bank).

Our new London office will be formally established following completion of the Law Society's registration requirements.
